Noa Argamani, born October 12, 1997, was kidnapped by Hamas during the Re'im music festival massacre on October 7, 2023. The video of her abduction, in which she can be heard crying, "Don't kill me!" as she is taken on a motorcycle, became a symbol of the hostage crisis. Argamani was later seen in a Hamas video in January 2024, confirming she was alive.
In March 2024, her mother, who was suffering from terminal brain cancer, appealed publicly for her daughter's release. Argamani was freed on June 8, 2024, after 245 days in captivity, during a joint operation by the IDF, Shin Bet, and the Israel Police. She was reunited with her family, but her mother passed away shortly after. Argamani’s abduction, and later her rescue, received extensive international media coverage, and she became a symbol for the ongoing hostage crisis.
